To say I’m pumped about this year’s World Series would be an understatement. As a Canadian, it’s incredible to see one of our teams on baseball’s biggest stage. But even beyond that, as a fan of the game, I’m thrilled to watch elite hitting go up against elite pitching.
Speaking of pitching, I wanted to take a closer look at the range of shapes and sizes we’ll see on the mound in this year’s Fall Classic. It’s fascinating how athletes with such different builds and athletic profiles can all reach the same level — standing on an MLB mound and throwing 95+ mph.
Here’s a quadrant graph showing how the pitchers from both teams vary in height and weight.

The shortest & lightest is Yoshinobu Yamamoto. He’s 5’10 and 176 with a BMI of 25.3.

The tallest is Tyler Glasnow at 6’8″ – that’s over 2 meters for those outside the USA.

The heaviest is the Blue Jays closer, Jeff Hoffman, at 235 lbs

That’s 30 lbs drop from last year’s winner for the heavist pitcher
That honor went to Brusdar Graterol and his 265 lbs. Standing at 6’1 he scores himself a BMI of 35 which is far and away the highest you’ll see today.

I hope you enjoy this information. I’d love to go on and dig in deeper but I have to go watch the game now !!!
Sincerly,
